One of the most visited cities in the USA, Washington, D.C. offers a variety of interesting experiences, from learning about American history and government to seeing many of the most iconic sights in the country. This vibrant city is also home to great food, art, cultural attractions and much more.  This annual trip is a great tradition of Northwestern Middle School. It is designed by the staff to ensure the pace is equivalent to the students and their desire to learn about our great country and its rich history.

Stepping out of the classroom and discovering Washington, D.C. in person with guided tours will help bring history to life for your child as he/she develops a strong sense of patriotism, seeing firsthand the importance and energy of our nation’s capital.  This is an unforgettable trip they will always treasure. Your student will enjoy a five day trip to Washington, D.C., learning about our Nation’s history and government.

Day One  | Sunday, April 28, 2019

  • Group departs this evening for Washington, D.C.

Day Two  | Monday, April 29, 2019

  • George Washington’s Mt. Vernon Estate and Gardens
  • Lunch at Pentagon City Food Court (voucher included)
  • Guided tour of Arlington National Cemetery (includes a wreath-laying ceremony)

Above is a list of POSSIBLE sights, attractions, memorials, monuments, etc that are POSSIBLE to be scheduled for this trip. The number of people who commit to this trip is a major determinant of the finalized itinerary, as is the granting of various government requests for group tours.
