Family & Friends
Family & Friends Trip participants are able to request deviations or changes to the planned return flight air schedule.
In the “Participant Info” section of the Family & Friends registration, options have been added for your to provide us your request to deviate your return date.
FEE: For all airline change requests, there will be a $75 per passenger change fee. You would also be responsible for any increase in the airfare based on the new schedule. We will send you the flights and fare difference and you will have the option to “agree” to the change or “cancel the request.”
Band Students
The band will travel as a group to Hawaii on the same dates as the Family & Friends tour, leaving for Hawaii on March 21st and departing Honolulu on March 26th, arriving in Columbus on March 27th.
The band staff is granting permission to “check out” your student in Honolulu and allow them to return home separately with you on a different date.
The “Participant Info” section of the Band registration site has been updated. Three options have been added and each of them allows you to provide us with your request to have your student return on a different date from the official band return date. This option is available to all students and doesn’t require a parent to purchase a Family & Friends (F&F) package.
You will need to go back into your student’s registration and complete the appropriate question (in the Participant Info section) and we will start the process of working with the airlines.
OPTION #1: Families choosing to register for a Family & Friends with Air package will have the option to request a later return date on their F&F registration. You will then need to go back into your student’s registration to request the same date and state that you are on F&F trip. We will match up your flights.
OPTION #2: Families choosing to register for the Family & Friends Land-Only package, will need to go back into your student’s registration and inform us of the airline that you are flying as well as the specific return date (please provide specific flight numbers if you already have them). We will work directly with the airline to try accommodate your student’s airline request.
OPTION #3: Families that have made their own travel arrangements to Hawaii, will need to go back into your student’s registration and inform us of the airline that you are flying as well as the specific return date (please provide specific flight numbers if you already have them). We will work directly with the airline to try accommodate your student’s airline request.
We are currently holding group space with Delta, United and American Airlines. It is a little too early to tell which airlines, how many flights, and which schedule we will be using until we get the final numbers. As a reminder, specific flights for the band students and chaperones are not assigned and likely will not occur until the beginning of the year. Will will work to match them with the requests you provide through the process above.
